Article: Eaos-x 051

Eaos are open bogie wagons with a large loading space, high load limits, a continuous top chord, two double doors on each side and steel flooring.

They are suitable for transporting a wide variety of goods both in bulk (scrap, coal, ores, salts, non-metallic minerals) and in packaged form (logs or semi-finished steel products (rod iron/slabs)). Rings attached to the outside of the wagon enable nets/sheets or tarpaulin covers to be fastened to prevent the freight from getting wet or to prevent wind losses from bulk goods. To secure lightweight loose scrap, hooks are fitted below the top chords to allow wire netting covers to be fastened. In order to withstand the heavy-duty stresses experienced in scrap metal transport, this Ea wagon has been specially equipped with reinforced walls and floors and fitted out with guards to protect the wagon's controls.

Please note: Type is similar to the wagon in the photo. For exact dimensions, please refer to the data below.

Additional information:

The wagon is primarily intended for transporting bulk goods and scrap. Due to its large capacity and high payload, it is suitable for products of very different densities.

The underframe is constructed using St 37-2 in the section construction type and welded sheet metal. It is rated for an axle load of 20 t. The cladding sheets are 4 mm thick, while the sheets for the doors are 5 mm thick and made of St 52-3 with added copper. The upper edge bar is continuous. The floor is made of 6 mm thick RSt 37-2 Cu 3 sheet metal.

Wagons built through 1982 have a non-continuous draw gear with B 412 B2 draft gear; from 1983 onwards they are equipped with an RF draw gear type 540. On some vehicles the doors (positioned diagonally to one another) have been replaced and sealed with metal sheets.
