Additional information:
The Sdgmns 743 pocket wagon is suitable for transporting semi-trailers with P-coding in accordance with UIC Code 596-5, large containers in accordance with UIC Code 592-2 and swap bodies in accordance with UIC Code 592-4.
It is intended for international transport.
The underframe is a welded structure consisting of two side solebars welded to two pivot bolsters as well as additional crossbearers to form a supporting frame.
The trestle is used to support the semi-trailer fifth wheel plate and accommodate the kingpin. It is mounted on sliding tracks and can be positioned longitudinally by means of roller chains and sprockets from each side of the wagon with a hand wheel.
The loading area must be cleared before loading with containers. To do this, the trestle must be brought into the end position on the headstock (locking device must engage).
To accommodate containers of different lengths, the solebars are fitted with spigots (partly foldable/partly movable).
The wagon bears the inscription "Abstoßen und Ablaufen lassen des beladenen Wagens verboten" ("Fly shunting and hump shunting of the loaded wagon prohibited").
