Two-part, permanently coupled freight wagon unit with four wheelsets and a tarpaulin roof that opens.

The wagon unit has a continuous hydraulic impact beam under each wagon body, which largely protects the load from shunting impacts. This means that this wagon is also suitable for transporting goods that are sensitive to shocks (e.g. components for the automotive industry, engines, gearboxes).

Due to the closed and locked tarpaulin roof, it also provides protection for moisture-sensitive goods. Additional tensioning systems ensure faster load securing. With a loading length of over 14 m each, this wagon unit offers a loading space of 2 x 109 m³.

Please note: Type is similar to the wagon in the photo. For exact dimensions, please refer to the drawing and the data below.

Additional information:

The wagon unit consists of two permanently coupled Kijls 450 wagons (permanent coupler according to drawing 2Fwg000.0.05.050.002, breakage load 1000 kN), which cannot be separated during operation. The main brake pipes of the wagons are connected at the fixed coupling point by a continuous, raised brake hose (without brake shut-off cocks and coupling heads).

The wagon unit is intended for transporting goods that are sensitive to shocks (e.g. components for the automotive industry, engines, gearboxes). The wagon unit has a continuous hydraulic impact beam under each wagon body, which largely protects the load from shunting impacts. This limits the calculated acceleration acting on the load at impact speeds of up to 9 km/h to 1 g (9.81 m/s2).

The end walls consist of two sloping end pillars, two crossbearers and a frame, which also accommodates the sealing system. The metal panelling is 2 mm thick. Robust four-point central locks are located on the end walls and can be used to reliably secure the wagon sheets. The actuating devices are positioned in such a way that the wagon sheets can be unlocked and locked both from the ground and from a platform. Each of the four locking hooks, including the two actuating levers, are connected to each other via shafts mounted on swivel bearings. This makes it possible to actuate the central locking systems from either side of the wagon.
